Vision Boards are an amazing way to make impossible dreams seem a little bit more tangible. There’s something to be said for bringing positive vibes into your life, and the power of positivity in general. Fill your workspace or living space with positivity! Take your dreams and put them on paper. Make them a little bit more real, a little bit more tangible. Tell yourself that this is where you want to be, and you will get there!
Vision boards need content
First things first: finding what you want to put on your board. I find Pinterest (Follow me for fun stuff!) to be a key place to find inspiration. I searched for dream houses, puppies, gorgeous makeup rooms, and travel destinations. Take a moment and think about all the things you want in your life, big and small. For me, travel is huge, so I included a photo of Coachella (I’m a basic girl who knows what she likes) and of California, one of my favourite places in the world. I also included a gorgeous photo of a couple sitting in what appears to be Greece, because I always want to travel with my partner in crime.
Try to think of what matters to you. Where do you want to be in the future? Don’t limit yourself! This is a board for big dreams. Even if it seems unattainable right now, what you want to do is take steps to even see it as a possibility.
So, as I said. Pinterest, Pinterest, Pinterest. Find gorgeous photos and quotes that inspire you to reach for the stars.
Print your photos, and see how they fit together
Try to get the vibe of the photos before you cut and paste any of them, and see how they look together. You want a final product that will really represent your vision! This can also serve as an elimination process for any doubles you might have, or photos that just don’t fit your aesthetic.
Craft time & what you’ll need
- Legal Paper/Bristol Board/Cardstock
- Gel Pens
- Your photos
Now is the fun part. Find a base that’s big enough for all your photos. I used plain legal paper for mine, because I’m going to be putting it up on my cork board. But you can use whatever works best for you. The great thing about vision boards is they aren’t high maintenance in terms of supplies.
Cut out your photos in creative ways! Don’t make them all the same shape. This will give the board a bit more spunk. I cut all of mine out and then laid them in the way I wanted before gluing them all down. Bring your personality into it! These are your hopes and dreams, so show them in their best light.
The final product~
There you have it! Your own Vision Board. I had so much fun making this. It really made me take a moment to myself to think about what I dream about having in the future, and where I want to be. A lot of these are big goals that will take a long time to attain, and I recognize that! But this isn’t a “Tomorrow Board”. It’s okay to dream big.
