My Spring Routine: The Best Beauty Products for a Natural Glow

Spring is the perfect time to highlight natural beauty, or at least that’s what I’ve heard. I like wearing less makeup in the warmer months, and I try to embrace more of a natural glow. I’ve also really been trying to amp up my skincare, which is a losing battle when you’re a University student with little to no expendable income. Good quality products can be expensive, but investing in products that actually work is really important. The following products have become staples in my morning routine, and I’d wholeheartedly recommend them if you want a fresh faced glow!

Sunday Riley – Good Genes

Remember what I was saying about good products being expensive? This is no exception. This little serum will run you a pretty penny at your nearest Sephora, but boy does it do its job. As soon as I put this on, my skin looks more radiant. It has lactic acid in it, which acts as a chemical exfoliant. This means that your pores have less of a chance of getting clogged, and it also plumps up the skin as well. I’ve found that since using this, I need a lot less foundation. It’s taken care of most of the redness I have from acne scarring as well.

L’Oreal – True Match Lumi Foundation

My favourite drugstore foundation, and my current everyday favourite. Want a natural glow? This is your product. It breathes life into dull skin and looks so radiant and dewy. I wouldn’t recommend this for my oily skinned girls, unless you use it with a mattifying primer and good setting powder, but that kind of defeats the point. But for combo girls like me, or even my drier skinned pals, this could become your best friend. It looks really healthy on the skin, and it won’t break the bank.

Too Faced – Born This Way Concealer

I fell in love with this concealer after getting it at Ipsy’s GenBeauty Toronto last year. It isn’t the most full coverage concealer, but that means it doesn’t look out of place with a more natural look. Too Faced describes it as “radiant” in a lot of their marketing, and I totally agree with that. It looks healthy on the skin, and it helps that it smells like a tropical paradise. 🙂

Nudestix – Gel Colour Lip & Cheek Balm

These little beauties are another obsession from GenBeauty. I mentioned Luxe in my Pale Girl Diaries post about Nude Lipsticks. You can use these on your cheeks or on your lips, though I tend to use them mostly as gorgeously sheer lip colours. Rebel is another one of my favourites, which is more of a petal pink shade. Nudestix products in general are amazing for achieving a natural glow.

Nars – Luster Blush

I’ve had this colour as a staple in my collection for so long. It goes with literally any look I pair it with. This is a nude peach colour on my skintone, and it has a bit of a glow to it. I wouldn’t say sparkle, because it doesn’t appear to have glitter in it, but it does have a faint shimmer. Because it’s not completely matte, it adds just the right amount of glow to any look. If you don’t wear highlighter, this would be a great option to add a natural glow to your look.

Stila Cosmetics – Kitten

I mentioned this beautiful shade in my Pale Girl Diaries all about Highlighters! The perfect subtle champagne glow for any occasion, if you use a soft hand this can really catch the light in the most subtle and beautiful way. I get so many compliments whenever I wear this, and I usually wear it to work, because I don’t wear it as a “glow to the moon” type of highlight (I mean, it can be if you apply it with a heavier hand.)

That’s my current beauty routine! I think these products look beautiful together, and I’d really love to know if you’re trying the natural glow routine too this Spring. It just looks so effortless, I can’t help but adore it. Make sure you check out my recent beauty posts if you want more product recommendations.
